A HABIT FOR A VISION

At Wholly Shrink! our vision is to help as many people as possible to incorporate seamlessly the habit of recycling soft plastic into their daily routine. Every time anyone is about to discard a piece of recyclable soft plastic, rather than placing it in the generic bin, place it in the home soft plastic compactor. That simple act performed by hundreds maybe thousands of people will have a significative impact on the environment and in particular marine ecosystems.

It starts right there, at the very moment your hand holds that piece of plastic, the brain is faced with a quick, mindless decision to make. What’s the easiest? Throwing it in the generic bin or in the dedicated plastic location? If it’s easy it will get into the right place, if the correct location is hidden, in the garage or far from the kitchen, it’s likely to end up in the wrong bin, because we are humans and our brains will always push us to the most efficient (easiest) path.

We’ve designed the Wholly Shrink! plastic compactor for convenience, so it can be placed on the benchtop or under the sink and easily accessible.

Once the compactor is full, it’s easy to seal it up and to bring it back to a store that participates in the RedCycle program.

But wait! What if we could place it in the yellow council bin? … This is not allowed yet (so don’t “shrinking” do it 🙂). We are working on this, watch this space, we’ll let you know if we make any progress!
